Ted has a passion for beer, as anyone who knows him can attest.  Top Hops, founded by Ted in 2012, and located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, was nothing if not well known for its dedication to serving great beer.  Merchants and Advocates of Great Beer, the bar’s tag line, said it all.  Upon its opening Top Hops quickly gained a reputation as a place to find and drink some of the best beers available in NYC. Ted knew that to properly enjoy a great beer, that beer needed to be cared for properly. Top Hops was among the first bars to post, on its primary blackboard, the date when each draft line was cleaned. The beer lines at Top Hops were cleaned every two weeks. Posting this clean date educated consumers and drew applause from Brewers.   Over the years,  these groups repeatedly expressed appreciation for Top Hops’ commitment to the proper handling of beer. Brewers were assured that the beer they worked so hard to produce was getting to the consumer as intended, and not being spoiled at the final step. Customers could taste that the draft was fresh and clean.
