SERVICE

At Top Hops,Ted understood that to serve great beer, as intended by the brewer,  you need to protect the beer from spoilage and off flavors. The couplers, faucets and draft lines must be cleaned regularly to achieve optimal results. Cleaning and maintaining serving equipment was non negotiable and part of the Top Hops’ DNA.  One cannot serve excellent food prepared in a dirty kitchen. One cannot serve excellent beer with neglected and dirty draft equipment.

Bar Owners: Are you tired of seeing your hard earned money literally going down the drain due to poorly maintained draft lines, faucets and couplers?  Foamy beer results from improperly maintained equipment.  Particulate will get into glasses when the faucets are poorly maintained. Leaks, burping and spitting faucets are frequently the result of damaged couplers, and/or torn or nicked washers. Waste will be reduced with proper maintenance.

Brewers: You invest time, energy and resources to craft your beer and you rightly expect these beers to come out of the tap with all the taste that you intended.  Too often, this is not the case. The best beer in the world will suffer greatly if the lines at the bar are not maintained properly.

Customers: Neglected beer lines do not encourage repeat visits. Beers will suffer from off flavors and odors. Particulate may end up in the glass, floating in the beer. Customers may experience upset stomachs. Pilsners and other lagers are frequently the first beers to show evidence of off flavours. The wiff of popcorn butter or a sour smell will become apparent. Guinness will have a sour tinge.  More than likely, the poor experience cannot be attributed to the brewer, nor the beer. The draft system is simply not being maintained correctly.
